Math
Over the last few weeks, we have completed our Ratios, Rates and Proportional Reasoning Unit.  We had three assignments submitted and ended with three separate quizes for these concepts.

We have begun our Understanding Percent Unit, so far we have taken notes and worked on representing percentages on hundredths grids.  We show percentages of less than 1%, more than 100% and fractional percents.  We will continue next week with a small quiz using grids, along with converting between fractions, decimals and percents.

Science
We have completed our WHMIS and Lab Safety work in Science.  We have been working on our Mix and Flow of Matter Unit.  We have done a lab where students poured carbon dioxide onto a flame to demonstrate that gases are fluids.  Students have created word walls with a specific scientific term, along with a lab on pure substances, mixtures, solutions, colloids and suspensions.  This week, we worked on concentration and solubility, as well as vocabulary terms for next week.
